Meet the speakers
Jordi García Brustenga
Director General of Industrial Strategy and SMEs at the Ministry of Industry and Tourism
Born in Barcelona in 1973, he holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from Pompeu Fabra University, an Executive Master’s in Public Administration (EMPA) from ESADE, and an official Master’s in Strategic Management and Corporate Communication from the University of Vic. He is currently the Director General of Industrial Strategy and SMEs at the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, following five years as the Director of Operations and Promotion of the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem at ENISA. During his last year at ENISA, he was responsible for the regulatory and operational development of Law 28/2022, the Startup Law. In addition to managing the loan process for innovative SMEs and the certification process for startups, he coordinated the company’s strategy and participated in various national and international committees and working groups, forging alliances and initiatives with key organizations and networks within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Noteworthy collaborations include those with regional development agencies (Foro ADR) and technology and business parks (APTE). Previously, both in the public sector (Barcelona City Council, Viladecans, and others) and the private sector (Rol20-EDS-HP, Prysma-AENOR, independent consultant) as well as in academia (University of Barcelona, CIREM Foundation), he has gained extensive experience in the complex nature of industrial and business activities and the necessary public policies that stem from them, on which he has published several articles in leading journals.
